Oslo by cruise

Episode 2: Oslo by cruise

After we came across Öresund bridge from Malmö by train, we were in Copenhagen.20130322-DSC00326

As we arrived Copenhagen central station, we needed to interchange to the other line to get to Østerport station. 20130322-DSC00330

Filled up the energy by sausage from 7-Eleven near Østerport station.

This was our cruise that we would stay overnight passing through Oslofjord.

From the cruise, we could see off-shore wind farm out there.

Inside the cruise is bigger than I expected, there are many floors with the cabins, casino, duty free shop, restaurant etc. Like we stayed in the hotel with facilities and the view will be changed as cruise sailed. It was a great experience.

During early journey, we could see only sky and sea. The shore of Sweden and Denmark is quite far away. I think it is a bit boring, but, anyway, we could enjoy the other activities on the cruise which you will have different feeling when you are on the shore, indeed. For instance, seafood buffet in restaurant with moving sea view.

After, we had finished the seafood buffet, we went up to the deck for sunset and back to our cabin. It was time to take some rest and, of course, you can surf internet via wifi which its stability depends on your cabin location. I had to sit in front of our cabin’s door in order to get access to wifi, really.

The next morning, we went outside for exploration. There was warm pool out there under freezing atmosphere, interesting?. We could not be outside so long, we had to get inside and warm up again and again. The wind made me didn’t feel my hand and ears. It was a wonderful experience anyway.

Then, it was time for breakfast. So far so good.

20130323-DSC00414 After, I finished up my dishes, it went up deck again and I found that it was not boring anymore because we were in the region called “Oslofjord”. This is not fjord actually in term of geography but fjord in Norwegian can refer to wide range of waterways. (Wikipedia)

As you can see in Google Maps down below, the dash line is our route through Oslofjord.

Now the highlight of our trip on sailing cruise was coming, we could see lovely Norwegian villages along two sides of the bay.

We were close to Oslo. So, I went down to the cabin and packed my bag. I couldn’t wait to see how Oslo, the Capital of Norway, looks like.
